Poly-Géo is a firm specializing in applied geosciences. Specific areas of expertise include surface mapping for various civil engineering applications, construction material identification and mapping, and shore erosion control applications. Since 1986, Poly-Géo has carried out numerous studies throughout Québec for private and public organizations including Hydro-Québec, the Société d'Énergie de la Baie James, native communities, municipalities and civil engineering firms. Through the last 20 years, Poly-Géo's geomorphologists, geologists, geological engineers, GIS specialists and cartographers have accomplished numerous large scale studies, participating in major hydroelectric projects, as northern development as well as mapping projects for mineral exploration, from grass root programs to detailed studies. 

  

Poly-Géo has reached the status of prominent expert in air-photo interpretation in Canada. Poly-Géo's professionals can perform a thorough analysis of geological events, recent and ancient, responsible for the present day layout of surficial deposits and landforms. Using their knowledge of erosion and sedimentation processes, they can provide guidance on best management and engineering practices to prevent or minimize land alteration through its development. Field work, remote sensing through air-photographs of various scales and satellite images, digital terrain models, thematic mapping, and geospatial analysis are among the tools we use in order to identify, analyse, and map surficial deposits, landforms, and erosion processes with great details.
