Since it was created in 1986, Poly-Géo’s geomorphologists and cartographers have used their expertise in territory analysis for the benefit of major hydroelectric projects and the development of Northern Quebec.
Poly-Geo’s main expertise is in the characterization of field conditions (surface materials, topography, hydrography) for the planning of civil works (transmission lines, roads, railways, pipelines, and individual sites), analysis of the physical environment and environmental assessment, erosion studies and shoreline stabilization and protection, and support for mineral exploration.
Poly-Geo works with the various levels of government, Crown corporations, agencies and private corporations. Key clients include Hydro-Québec, Société d’énergie de la Baie James, the Aboriginal communities of northern Quebec, consulting engineering firms, road-building and power-line contractors, and municipalities.
Our geomorphology, geology, geomatics and cartography experts are able to reconstruct and depict the geological events that led to the emplacement of surficial deposits and landforms, whether ancient or recent.
